Calvin Culver, better known by his adult film name Casey Donovan, was born in 1943 in East Bloomfield, New York. He graduated from teachers' college in 1965 and worked as a teacher in Peekskill and New York City. When he was fired from his teaching job after an altercation with a student, he began working as an escort and tried to establish an acting career. He began his adult film career in 1971 in the film Ginger and in the film that would make him famous, Boys in the Sand, the first adult film to achieve mainstream crossover success. Culver appeared in the Broadway revival of Captain Brassbound's Conversion with Ingrid Bergman in 1972 and the 1973 Lincoln Center production of The Merchant of Venice.

 

Jack Mitchell (1925 - 2013) was an American photographer of artists, dancers, film and theatre performers, musicians and writers. He was hailed as one of the most important dance photographers of the 20th century. His work appeared in major newspapers and on the cover of major magazines, including over 160 covers of Dance Magazine. The Smithsonian called him “the benchmark by which other dance photographers assessed their own work”.  



 

Mitchell photographed John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Leonard Bernstein, David Byrne, Truman Capote, Anthony Quinn, Jack Nicholson, Patti LuPone, Keith Haring, Neil Simon, Angela Lansbury, Twyla Tharp, Ned Rorem, Leontyne Price, Alfred Hitchcock, Spalding Gray, Ann Reinking, Andy Warhol, Natalie Wood, and Gloria Swanson.  His work appeared in The New York Times, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Life, Newsweek, People, Rolling Stone, Time, Vanity Fair and Vogue, among others.
